A church for thinkers and makers.
Our history, our convictions, and our community.
An old building, a new chapter.
The brick church on Grove Avenue was built in 1910. By 2013 its congregation had dwindled to fifteen faithful members. They prayed for new life, and in 2014 they invited a small group of young families and students to replant the church as Ashgrove.
Today the building is full again on Sunday mornings: original members in their nineties, artists, nurses, professors, and plenty of VCU students. We love scripture, good books, and long conversations.

What we value.
Curiosity
Honest questions are a doorway to faith, not a threat to it.
Beauty
We make room for art, music, and words that point to God.
Neighborliness
We belong to the Fan, and we want to be good neighbors.
